In order to achieve an effective relationship with our clients, we understand the value of and are committed to regular communications with our clients and prompt responses to any communications therefrom.  We understand our work with our clients is in service of their needs and aspirations and strive to achieve a relationship that is in support thereof and transparent.  As such, we utilize, with the consent of the client, a secure online case management program that allows our clients to view their calendar of upcoming events, access their documents on file with us, communicate with us through instant messaging, track our services performed on their behalf, view current and historical billing in connection therewith and make payment for services provided thereto. 

Flexible Billing Structure

The Elbe Law Firm offers a flexible client-driven billing structure.  While the needs of each client are different, in general, all standard or well-defined matters are billed on a fixed-fee basis with a set payment schedule. 
By way of example, fixed-fee matters generally include:
  • acquisition and licensing agreements;
  • production and distribution agreements;
  • financing and international sales agreements;
  • above and below-the-line talent and crew agreements;
  • production forms and agreements (e.g., releases, location, rental and confidentiality agreements, clearance, social media and employment policies);
  • clearances and stock footage and music licensing;
  • standard corporate forms and agreements (e.g., operating, share purchase, investor rights and stockholder agreements, articles of organization and incorporation, by-laws, Secretary of State filings);
  • standard copyright and trademark protection and Uniform Commercial Code filings; and
  • government relations and public policy advocacy.
Any matters that are not billed on a fixed-fee basis (such as any litigation) will be billed at the firm's standard hourly rates. Whether a matter should be billed on an hourly or fixed-fee basis is dependent on the size, complexity and uncertainty of the matter, but generally driven by the client's needs and billing preference.
